About SAT
Created by College Board, the SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The idea is to provide colleges with one common criterion that can be used to compare all applicants. The weight placed on your SAT scores varies from school to school.
The test is broken down into 4 timed sections of various lengths; the following table illustrates the breakdown:
